Our wide range of cartoons!

Hey all!

Don't forget our HUGE collection of cartoon that you can personalize to give to friends, family, teachers, heck to EVERYBODY!

We have, of course, the Whimsies line of cartoons, as well as the extremely popular Friendly Folks, Name-that-Toon and Amazing Cartoons.

Be sure to type in what you're looking for in the search box and most likely we WILL have that cartoon for ya!

You can add text, title, name, * change hair color, style, add a moustache, freckes, glasses and wayyyyy more! Really personalize your cartoon so when they receive it they'll say, "WOW - she/he really took the time to find me a personalized gift - I lOVE it!"

* The Friendly Folks line of cartoons has fewer options, unfortunately, we can change skin tone from light to dark and add text and a name. Maybe in the future???

Have a wonderfully comical day!

NEWS - I went to Ottawa for my Zumba Fitness instructor training
May 31st (I never danced so much in my life...not even when I was
a ballroom/Latin dance competitor - LOL! We danced from 9 a.m.
until about 4:15 or so with a break for lunch and two short
breaks along with maybe two times we were sitting on the floor
listening to the master instructor explain parts of the
instructor manual). Well I got my certificate to teach Zumba
Fitness and it's being proudly displayed on my home exercise room
wall Now I just have to find (or create) a class to teach...

For all of you who want to know more about the exciting Zumba
Fitness style including purchasing the DVD's, looking for a class
or becoming an instructor yourself, just check out
http://www.zumba.com. I've included a little info on Zumba
Fitness in the Cool Sites and Interesting Tidbits section.
Also, please check out my blog for more info on Zumba:
http://whimsies-online.blogspot.com/. Also I have a new blog
devoted entirely to Zumba:http://zumbawithheather.blogspot.com/

Here are some interesting articles on Zumba: "Zumba brings Latin
flavor to workouts It's dancing, it's fitness--it aims to be a
fun party, not just exercise. Rows of people strut forward as if
on a catwalk in Milan. As the music changes, they pause in
unison, then shimmy back. Later, the same group will perform
Jennifer Lopez-caliber booty shaking, along with a little air
guitar. Zumba incorporates Latin dance moves like salsa, cumbia
and merengue into a high-energy workout. A celebrity fitness
trainer created Zumba in Colombia in the mid-1990s and brought
the classes to the U.S. in 1999, according to the Zumba website (
http://www.zumba.com)." Read more: http://tinyurl.com/6ca7od and
"Zumba can help you shimmy off the pounds. The dance-aerobics
workout incorporates Latin music, footwork with fun.":

For you new readers, The Udderly Moovalous Kitchen is so named
because Cheryl, the tester of the best recipes ever, loves cows
and has decorated her kitchen accordingly!

Let me know what you think about On A Whim... and if you have
any suggestions for topics you'd like to see addressed, or you'd
like to submit clean jokes, comical anecdotes, stress reliever
ideas, your most embarrassing and comical experiences (we'll
laugh with you!), fun ideas, time management and organizing
hints, etc., Comments? Questions? Just need to vent about the
coffee you spilled all over yourself this morning? I'd love to
hear from you. Give me a shout at info@whimsies-online.com.

Remember, On A Whim... is for you - we want to bring a little
sunshine and laughter into your life!

Have a great month and don't forget, keep in touch...May you
always have Love to Share, Health to Spare and Friends that care.

Whimsically yours,

Heather

2. SOMETHING TO MAKE YOU SMILE

"You know you are living in 2008 when............"

(anonymous)

... Your reason for not staying in touch with your family is
because they do not have e-mail.

... You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of
three.

... Your grandmother asks you to send her a JPEG file of your
newborn so she can create a screen saver.

... You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to
see if anyone is home.

... Every commercial on television has a web site address at the
bottom of the screen.

... You buy a computer and 3 months later it's out of date and
sells for half the price you paid.

... Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't
have the first 20 or 30 years of your life, is now a cause for
panic and you turn around to go get it.

... Using real money, instead of credit or debit, to make a
purchase would be a hassle and take planning.

... You just tried to enter your password on the microwave.

... You consider second-day air delivery painfully slow.

... Your dining room table is now your flat filing cabinet.

... Your idea of being organized is multi-colored Post-it Notes.

... You hear most of your jokes via e-mail instead of in person.

... You get an extra phone line so you can get phone calls.

... You disconnect from the Internet and get this awful feeling,
as if you just pulled the plug on a loved one.

... You get up in the morning and go online before getting that
cup of coffee.

... You wake up at 2 AM to go to the bathroom and check your E-
mail on your way back to bed.

... You start tilting your head sideways to smile.

... You're reading this and nodding and laughing.

... Even worse; you know exactly who you are going to forward
this to!

3. BOOK REVIEW

"QUICK MONEY SECRETS - How to Quickly Raise or Borrow Needed
Cash" by Barbara Brabec

Once again Barbara Brabec has written a winning book! According
to the information on her website
http://www.barbarabrabec.com/barbara-brabec_ebooks.htm: "NEED
MONEY? This eBook will be of most value to home business owners
who are experiencing cash flow problems, and to individuals who
need extra money for personal needs or home business startup and
growth. Twelve chapters feature clear explanations and special
tips and "Tales from the Trenches" (innovative strategies Barbara
and other home business owners have used with success to raise
money- information unavailable anywhere on the web). PLUS more
than a hundred high-quality Web links to articles, resource
websites and current books. (Reviewers say the links alone are
worth the price of this unusual and highly informative eBook.)"

I have read many of Barbara's books and I'm sure this one will be
worthy of your bookshelf on either home business or personal
finance.

I have reviewed other books by Barbara on my website:
http://www.whimsies-online.com/bookreviews.htm. You'll find my
review of her books, ""Homemade Money Series" - "Starting Smart"
and "Bringing in the Bucks". She has never let me down!

4. ARTICLE

Let Your Fingers Be Your Physician!
Thanks to Lena Sanchez

Well, your fingers can't really be your physician but could your
fingernails be the diagnostician?

Some fingernail changes can be indicative of problems within your
body! Here are but a few indications that may save your life
and/or health!

Brittle soft and shiny nails without a moon at the base is
indicative of an overactive thyroid.

Brittle nails alone can be indicative of a possible Iron
deficiency, thyroid problems or impaired kidney' function and/or
circulatory problems.

A Vitamin B12 deficiency or anemia can be detected by dark nails
and/or thin, flat spoon-shaped nails. Also can be detected when
nails turn gray or dark when the hands are placed in chemicals
such as household cleaning products or bleach.

Then there is the downward-curved nail ends that may let you know
there is a liver, heart or respiratory problem. If you detect
bumps or lumps (called beading) that just appear on the nail
surface, you may have impending or full blown rheumatoid
arthritis.

Ridges can indicate poor nutrient absorption, and/or Iron
deficiency. Those ridges could mean there is a kidney problem
also indicate a tendency to develop arthritis if they are
vertical ridges. Then the ridges running horizontal can result
from stress, either/or psychological or physical as in the case
of disease or infections.

Nails that chip, peel, crack or break easily show a General
overall nutritional deficiency and insufficient hydrochloric acid
and protein. This is seen in people who use antacids on an
ongoing basis or eat foods low in nutrients. This calls for total
minerals and Vitamins at triple the RDA's.

Pitting red-brownish spots with frayed split ends are indicative
of psoriasis. Also requires Vitamin C, folic acid and protein
needs.

Black splinterlike bits under the nails can be a sign of

1. A serious heart infection called endocarditis
2. and/or other heart disease. 3.possible bleeding disorder.

This is but a partial list but you can find a more extensive list
at http://www.antibiotic-alternatives.com/let_your_fingers.htm

What is Zumba?

Zumba is a very dynamic and exciting class full of Latin and
exotic music flavors. The routines feature aerobic interval
training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone
and sculpt the body. It targets areas such as glutes, legs, arms,
abdominals, and the most important muscle in the body, the heart!
It is a mixture of body sculpting movements and easy to follow
dance steps, although you do not have to know how to dance to do
zumba. Zumba is a fun, effective, and simple fitness system that
uses the principal of fitness interval training and resistance
training to maximize caloric output, fat burning, and total body
toning. The sexy and explosive Latin rhythms create a party like
atmosphere that delivers results, as well as a "feel happy"
workout.Zumba is fun, different, easy, exotic, effective, and is
rapidly becoming the next fitness sensation!

10. THE LAST LAUGH (or more...)

A husband walks into the bedroom holding two aspirin and a glass
of water.

His wife asks, "What's that for?"

"It's for your headache."

"I don't have a headache."

He replies, "Gotcha!"

*********************************

While attending a marriage seminar on communication, David and
his wife listened to the instructor declare, "It is essential
that husbands and wives know the things that are important to
each other."

He addressed the man, "Can you describe your wife's favorite
flower?"

David leaned over, touched his wife's arm gently and whispered,
"Pillsbury All-Purpose, isn't it?"

The Men's View
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

We always hear "the rules" from the female side. Now here are
the rules from the male side. These are our rules! Please note...
these are all numbered "1" ON PURPOSE!

1. Learn to work the toilet seat. You're a big girl. If it's up,
put it down. You can handle it. We need it up, you need it
down. You don't hear us complaining about you leaving it
down.

1. Sunday = Sports. It's like the full moon. Let it be.

1. Crying is blackmail.

1. Ask for what you want. Let us be clear on this one Subtle
hints do not work! Strong hints do not work! Obvious hints do
not work! Just say it!

1. Yes and No are perfectly acceptable answers to almost every
question.

1. Come to us with a problem only if you want help solving it.
That's what we do. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.

1. A headache that lasts for 17 months is a problem. See a
doctor.

1. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument.
In fact, all comments become null and void after 7 days.

1. If you won't dress like the Victoria's Secret girls, don't
expect us to act like soap opera guys.

1. If you think you're fat, you probably are. Don't ask us.

1. If something we said can be interpreted two ways, and one of
the ways makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one.

1. You can either ask us to do something or tell us how you want
it done. Not both. If you already know best how to do it, just
do it yourself.

1. Whenever possible, please say whatever you have to say during
commercials.

1. Christopher Columbus did not need directions, and neither do
we.

1. ALL men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings.
Peach, for example, is a fruit, not a color. Pumpkin is also a
fruit. We have no idea what mauve is.

1. If it itches, it will be scratched. We do that.

1. If we ask what is wrong and you say "nothing," we will act
like nothing's wrong. We know you are lying, but it is just
not worth the hassle.

1. If you ask a question you don't want an answer to, expect an
answer you don't want to hear.

1. Don't ask us what we're thinking about unless you are prepared
to discuss such topics as baseball, the shotgun formation, or
monster trucks.

1. You have enough clothes.

1. You have too many shoes.

1. I am in shape. ROUND is a shape.

1. Thank you for reading this; Yes, I know, I have to sleep on
the couch tonight, but did you know men really don't mind
that, it's like camping.

Do men lose weight faster than women?

(thanks to http://exercise.about.com)

Yes, as unfair as it may seem, men do tend to lose weight faster than women. This can be upsetting, particularly when a man runs around the block a few times and seems to instantly lose 10 pounds while a woman's weight loss moves about as fast as a snail.

But, there are physiological reasons for that difference:

Men have more muscle. This allows them to burn more calories, even when at rest.
Women are predisposed to store and retain fat. Women have higher levels of estrogen, a hormone that works works to keep the fat on a woman's body so it's easier for her to get pregnant. That means women have to work harder to lose weight at the same rate as men.

Men's bodies respond more quickly to exercise. Women's bodies, meanwhile, actually go into a sort of starvation mode, slowing the metabolism to hang onto more fat.
Women may have a lower tolerance for exercise. Women have smaller lung capacity than men, which can make women feel as though they are working harder than men even if the women are working at the same level. This can also make exercise feel harder in the heat or high humidity.

This doesn't mean it's impossible for women to lose weight and, when you think about, excellent reasons are behind a woman's tendency to store fat. After all, creating and nurturing a new life is nothing to sneeze at.

It's always best to avoid comparing yourself to others, whether male or female, when it comes to weight loss. Everyone loses weight differently, and genes, along with hormones, play a large role in how quickly some people lose weight.
